welcome! Here's some relevent info for the coming 8 weeks. My name is Kevin Kanarek, I work as a freelance web developer and technology consultant to different schools. I'll be at Playing to Win on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 3:30 to 5:30. Oneil White is the assistant teacher for this class, he will be here Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 3:30 to 5:30. our emails are:
send us a message tomorrow from the account you'll be using most frequently over the next few weeks (and able to access from P2W, such as a hotmail account.) Once I have everyone's address I'll send a complete list out to each of you. Since I'll only be here 3 afternoons/week, and we'll all have overlapping schedules, checking and responding to your email will be critical for staying up to date on stuff. assignments In the first few weeks we'll be building the "scaffolding" to your web project and learning the necessary skills: html tags, modifying images and inserting them into web pages, doing web research, etc. Around the 3rd week the focus will shift to finishing/refining the prototype web service you've designed. Each week there will be goals and deadlines, i'll keep you posted on these via email. If you think you'll have trouble making a deadline, try to let one of us know in advance, we can help you prioritize and problem solve. scheduling in a team environment, not being here for whatever reason has an impact on yr teammates ability to get work done. also, alot of what you'll learn here you'll be learning from the other students. For these reasons it's important to let on of us know about days you can't make it, as much in advance as possible, so we can plan ahead based on who'll be there. Center guidelines familiarize yourself with the Playing 2 Win guidelines, review how to log in to your account, save files to your folder, open them, copy them, create new folders, etc. for Next Class -- bring in your business plans and resumes --
